Preview Active NO Focus

Is there a way to have the "preview" active (displayed) but when you select a file the preview DOESN'T get the focus; XY retains the focus so that the up/down, and other keyboard functions work?

OK, it might be unusual, but it's also very useful. Especially with today's developments... So I changed my mind and added it.
