General inquiry: Sripts in here are shared with the community, so I guess no one objects to private use by forum members. But how does the situation look like for corporate environments? Any legal restrictions I need to be aware of? Do the rights stay with each author and are negotiated with him on a per-script basis?

I would think that is the default if there is no explicit "Free for commercial use" (or similar) notice in the script.

I would probably object to someone using my free scripts in a money making scheme simply because my code is crap and I can't take any liability for it failing or causing problems in a corporate environment.

In general, the moment you want to use someone's free contribution to make money, ask them first.

In this general question I was more concerned about the legal side, not in terms of liability but like I said, copyright per se, the usual stuff to be aware of when dealing with any kind of software, from Open Source to Public Domain.
