Maybe this was discussed recently in some thread, but I can not find it.

I am using extensions in folder names (uncommon, but so it is). I tried to use Rename special / Set extension, but this does not seem to work. Can this be obtained?

No, it is actually a feature (in the sense that I had to extra code it) that it does not work with folders. (Reason: nobody but you would need it)
