Worthy of Contemplation

With 12.50 having rolled off the assembly line here is something to start to think about while there is plenty of time. Namely, what should the next full version number be? Should it follow logic and take on the next cardinal number? Or should it do what hotels et al are fond of doing and bypass that integer and go right to fourteen?
While this is admittedly somewhat frivolous it is not entirely trivial either.

0xD.00.0000 or if Don releases it this year he could switch to the date.
I always appreciate when versions are replaced with just date and build (yyyy.mm.dd.bb) but I understand how scary it can be to give users a constant reminder of how long your software has not seen updates.

AFAIK this topic only concerns USAmericans. The rest of the world will happily continue buying the app so no big problem for me. Americans can join again with v14.00 probably in 2015.

XYplorer 14-1 ?
No, there is EmEditor 13
and Black Sabbath 13
so XYplorer 13 looks fine too, isn't it?
BTW, it's
13 Jun 20
13 today...

Seriously (OMG, it's the 13th today!), what's going on there? What's up with "13" in USA? Enlighten me (excuse the pun)!

Don't anyone blow a gasket. Just a little snarky fun from a Yank who wondered if anyone would be sagacious enough to connect the thread with today's date.
With that as preamble TheQwerty's comment does come with gravitas.

Yeah!!
The groovy clavinet aside, here's another all-time
talkbox classic.
I think this thread is worth a little off-topic derailment....
Cheers,
