Problem — XYplorer is getting stuck

For a while now, XYplorer has been giving me problems. When I perform some operation on the file pane, it becomes unresponsive for a few seconds. It's getting quite annoying and is one of the main reasons to use XY instead of Microsoft's default explorer in the first place!

Any clues on how to troubleshoot this?

I experienced the same problem when moving 100000 files between two folders. XYplorer was unresponsive until the operation has been done. I also enabled background processing for all file operations.

I noticed that I had to uncheck the option "No progress dialog on intra-volume moves" in the options panel "File operations". Afterwards XYplorer didn't locked while moving the files.

Really? Interesting! Does JDługosz confirm this?

I don't think it's the same. Even deleting a file causes a freeze-up.

Custom Copy is not checked.

This can relate to an over-crowded recycle bin.

Recycle bin is rarely used. I run CCleaner each time I have to reboot, and at the moment there were 6 items in the recycle.

Windows Defender already lists XYplorer and XYcopy as exclusions. I don't find MS Security Essentials in the Security panel or in the Find results, so I'm pretty sure it didn't sneak in to my machine.

I wonder if there is some kind of instrumentation that I can use to find out where it is sticking.
