Portable tag structure ?

Is there a way to have XYplorer program in flash memory with a folder structure of thousands files (already tagged) so I can show any specific tagged file structure "on the road" (to a customer laptop) ?
Thank you in advance.

You could substitute drive letters with a question mark. Seems to work, but wait for Don's reply.

Hm, I think I did not really understand the question. :|

My guess is that he refers to tags stored in a portable fashion, without absolute paths.

well, all I need is to have a memory stick with me which of course it'll have a folder with my thousands files for demostration. If I already tagged them with XYplorer then how I'll use the tag feature in a customer laptop which of course would not have an XYplorer software ? So I need the XYplorer software in memory stick with me. Right ? But is that possible ? Is that functional ?

OK, got it. Then this is the answer:

Alas, the second part seems to be wrong. At least it does not work here (XYplorer.exe on a USB stick, then manually edit tag.dat, then restart XY: tags are gone.)

So, this is a wish that still has to be fulfilled... I will quickly check whether it can be done fast. Otherwise I have to postpone it...

Finally very helpful your idea.
Maybe if I use substitute a drive letter for the root of all my documents to be tagged (e.g. say T: for the D:\ebk_docs) from the very beggining of the proccess of tagging then always the tags will be active both to local use or to a portable device after copied.
It seems will be ok and no additional action needed except to substitute a drive letter "T" (indicating the flash memory folder \ebk_doc ) to every computer I need (takes seconds to execute the command line).

What do you think ?
(If I start tagging thousands then will be big pain to realize it doesn't work ...  )
