Windows E - Needs to start XYplorer

Once of the biggest things I'd like to see is for Windows E to start XYplorer instead of the standard windows explorer.
I've been using Windows E for as long as I can remember and I just can't break the habit of using this to start my preferred file manager.
Now I've just bought XYplorer I'm still pressing Windows E and getting the wrong program - it's a habit I just cannot break.
It also make sense as I've set the all of the Shell Integration options...

Hi and welcome to the XY world!
I may be wrong but I think that Win+E is one of the shortcuts that isn't easily (if even possible) changed...
So...how to avoid it? My solution is to keep XY running ALL the time so I only start it on boot and for a while, even put XY in my "Startup" folder so it was automatic...

It's possible via 3rd party program:
Code: Select all
#notrayicon
#e:: Run E:\7Utilities\XYplorer\XYplorer.exe
Customize and Save above code as .ahk then complie to exe using Autohotkey complier which I attached here:

This tiny code will run in background with no interface (delete #notrayicon if you want to show icon n tray)

Directory Opus can completely replace Windows Explorer including Win+E shortkey, so it is possible, the matter is you don't know how to do it.
I'm going to use this 3rd party keys hooker until you implement this MUST HAVE functionality into XY.

This simply isn't an application functionality but a system functionality. You have to modify the system to achive this. XYplorer does not do this since it is a portable stealth application.

Yes, I understand there's no way to do it if application is portable, but you can do it for those who install XY to ProgramFiles and don't move it around.
You can do it the same way as Directory Opus does, a little agent starting with Windows, waiting for one particular keys combination.
Honestly, I don't see a problem here, that is how XY works on my computer now, but it must be the part of XY, not a 3rd party application.

My solution:
- pinned xy to the left most position on the taskbar
- <windows>-<1>
Voila.
Cheers,
