pdf thumbs in squared white background

This is in win7 x64. Xyplorer v.12.10. No problem with jpg thumbs. They come out in their respective aspect ratios on whatever background you choose for list view.

My pdf thumbs however, are always encased in a squared white background. The thumbs itself are in their correct ratios - landscape or portrait. But as most of them are not square, there are the white background of the thumb itself.

Of course this will not be a problem if you also choose white as your list view background. But I would really like some tinting in the list view background. Something greying usually.

Is there something in configuration settings where this can be achieved? In Windows Explorer the pdf thumbs displays just like jpgs without this white box. I have Adobe Reader X.

I searched this subforum for "pdf thumbs" and found the thread by ale where he posted the registry tweak and which you have checked and okayed. So I installed PDF X-Change Viewer and applied the reg tweak.

And now the thumbs are alright. I also noticed that when thumbnail style in configuration is set to BOX, I get the white background
that I was complaining about here.

Here attached 2 pics to show. There is one other issue I have that may be you can help. Can I hide the column headers "Name.... Type..... Size..... Modified...." as seen in the top part of the pics?

Thank you so much for this wonderful forum. :D

1. Configuration | Thumbnails | Style: You probably have selected "Box". Try another style that suits you more.

2. Untick Configuration | Sort and Rename | Sort | Show sort headers in all views
