XY has one tab, locked. Close XY.
Open XY from the context menu of My Documents (on the Desktop) - new tab opens containing My Documents, that's fine.
Close XY, without saving settings so that only one tab exists.
Open XY from the context menu of My Computer (on the Desktop) - existing tab is replaced with the Desktop. The same applies for My Network Places & Recycle Bin. Looks like the Virtual Folders, opened from the context menu, don't open a new tab like the real folders do.

Honest!, I don't go looking for these strange problems. I simply wanted to see My Computer.

Yes, they behave somewhat special here. I could fix it for MyComputer, but not for My Network Places & Recycle Bin. Thanks anyway

That is what I suspected. I think leave as it is since I doubt if it's a common problem.

The situation was more complex (as it always is for me!). I had the tab locked, renamed and filtered. Hence when I opened My Computer XY displayed a blank list with the tab heading making it look as if I had lost all the data in the folder. The indication that something strange had happened was the icon in the tab and the information in the address bar.
