Here you can modify the general spacing (or airiness, or density) of the main window. The value stands for pixels that are inserted in different places.

Remark 1:
The help for "Line spacing" says:

Here you can customize the general line spacing in Tree, Catalog, and all lists and drop-downs.
Note that Tree, Catalog, and List support individual line spacing customization on top of this general one, adjustable by Ctrl+Wheel over the respective control.

This is not true:
Ctrl+Wheel over the respective controls changes the font size.
Ctrl+Shift+Wheel changes the row height and therefore changes the spacing between lines.

Remark 2:
Now we will have two adjustable spacing: "Line spacing" and "general spacing" ("Overall spacing") (with hint for "Line spacing": "Applies to Tree, Catalog, and all lists.")
It was difficult for me (and I think for other users) to understand that “all lists” means “all lists” of all dialogs that have lists, including the Configuration dialog, which also has a list on the left side.
Therefore, in the translation of the hint for "Line spacing" I previously made an explanation: Applies to Tree, Catalog, and all lists (*and to Configuration dialog).

Additional explanation was important because (with the original defaults) the list of configuration sections did not fit into the specified height for the dialog. By the way, this nuance is also not specified in the help file.


Remark 3:
"Line spacing" itself is actually a common interval, because this interval applies both to the interval of the main window controls that have lists and to the list interval of all other dialogs that have lists in their windows.
"Overall spacing" or "general spacing" means additional defaults for line spacing and only for lists within the main window controls, but since this is the initial default, to update this line spacing is required restart of XYplorer.

Therefore, until you change the logic of the behavior of these settings, it would be better to have such names: "Line spacing" and "Extra spacing for main window"
.. or something else that emphasizes that "Line spacing" makes changes everywhere and nearly instantly (required restart Configuration dialog), and "General spacing" is an additional value to "Line spacing", which was heretofore factory default, but added to "Line spacing" additionally, not everywhere, and after restart XY.

Give at least one example of an action when, without this checkbox, a tree node does not expands.

A direct translation of the words does not make the meaning clear.
(the previous option “Expand destination node in tree:” also did not help to understand the semantic meaning of this setting.

      browse". Expands a collapsed node in the tree when you browse it in a way other than 
      directly clicking it (which is handled by "Expand tree nodes on single-click"), e.g. 
      by double-clicking a folder in the list, selecting a favorite folder, or using the 
      address bar.
      Note that this feature only works in the Maxi Tree, not in the Mini Tree (where it 
      would defeat the purpose of the Mini Tree).
      FYI, this feature existed before under the name "Expand destination node in tree", 
      but was removed in v24.30.0123 - 2023-04-25 17:00 and kept only as a tweak. Now it's 
      back.

The thing is that without checkbox "Expand tree nodes on browse" by double-clicking a folder in the list, by selecting a favorite folder, or by using address bar, tree node, that is not expanded still expands, regardless of the state of checkbox.

Therefore, I ask you to give an example of such an action, after which the tree node does not expands.

Probably, it is not for nothing that you wrote earlier that the old name of the setting for the tweak feels a bit weird and the caption is confusing users.
So far I have not found an action that does not expand a tree node without checkbox "Expand tree nodes on browse"
