If it exists, I haven't found it, but it would be nice to have an option in the Configuration dialog to allow files to be deleted without the confirmation dialog.



For me, if I hit the delete button, I intend to delete it, and this would save me from hitting the spacebar or Enter key to confirm. If I change my mind, I can always play fetch from the Recycle Bin.

I think the Nuke button goes one (final) step too far for zridling.

No, zridling, right now there is no option to delete (to recycle bin) without confirmation dialog. I'll add that after I have done a couple of other things.

Actually, there always was an option to delete to recycle bin without confirmation. I know! I've been usig it since I first started using XYplorer (Tracker back then).

The thing is, XYplorer uses the windows API to delete files (as far as I know), and therefore the windows settings apply. Right-Click on the recycle bin (on your desktop, since XYplorer doesn't display it) and select properties. On the "Global" tab there is an option called "Display delete confirmation dialog" at the bottom. It might be somewhere else in WinXP (I use Win2k), but it is definitively somewhere in those recycle bin properties. This turns the confimation on/off for Explorer as well as XYplorer (and everything else that uses the Windows API for delting to the recycle bin). It still asks for confirmation if you Shift-Delete, which I apperciate, others might not

Personally, I still use the confirm for both XY and Explorer, but having the ability to disable it just within XY is because IF I had a lot of deleting to do, I can then use XY without 'protection' but still be safe when not in XY.

And as XY allows you to skip it on Shift+Del, which makes it better than doing it via Recycle options...for those who live on the edge!

yea, I wouldn't want that. I regulary use del and shift-del, but I wouldn't want shift-del to work without confirmation, you can seriously screw things up like that with a bit of hastyness

Anyway, I just wanted to mention that it was already possible to disable the delete confimation, if only for 'normal' deletes.
