great and unique "Refresh only" mode keeping selections, scroll
position and everything, just as you know and love it from F5.
This works well, but only if you don't do nothing while calculating. One little scroll of mousewheel and the list is now "unsorted" (like when we first got here, or before it uses XY's refresh only mode....
Try and use the arrows key is worse, cause it repaints only the (2) items that changes, so thoose are from the "unsorted list" while the rest of the list is "still sorted" !

But it sorts correctly when the smooth refresh is finished. By scrolling you force the list to reveal its current state which is browse-in-progress. I'd say this is not a bug but seeing an application at work. When you interfer with a software while it's heavily busy interesting experiences are almost to be expected. I find this cooler and less confusing than to simply disable scrolling or similar.

Well, I think disabling scrolling would be less confusing. I mean if we were talking about some Refresh operation, yeah maybe, but here...
I mean one could expect that, when doing Shift+F5, all XY need to/would do is calculate the sizes for all folders in the list. So pretty much we could see each sizes being added to the list after its been calculated, without need of any kind of refreshing/resorting/anything... so getting this might seems "odd", me thinks....

Yes!!

I was caught in tradition: for me Shift+F5 was still Refresh-and-get-folder-sizes-on-the-way. But since it is "Calculate Folder Sizes", I can go the way you describe, of course... cool.
