I'm uncertain again where to put this, might be considered a bug or a wish of mine... Anyway, here goes:

As with every list view you can add and remove files from a selection by Ctrl-Clicking on them. Unfortunately if you're as dumb as me and tend to 'miss' files on occasion, XYplorer deselects everything and you have to start from scratch with your selection. I realize that this is my fault and not XY's, but it would be nice if the selection wouldn't get reset if Ctrl is held down

Its not a bug i think. But still, I understand your problem because i too have missed many selections by releasing ctrl too soon. but i found a trick somewhere. here it is:

1. Hit shift key 5 times and you get a pop-up for sticky keys. just say ok.
2. Now hit ctrl two times and it becomes sticky.
3. Make your selections as you like.
4. Hit any two modifier keys together to return to normal state.

poooh. lot of work there.

Easier way is to nail the ctlr down till you make selections and then remove the nail. Note: could damage the ctrl key.

surrender: sorry, you misunderstood. I don't lose the selection because I let go of Ctrl too early, but because a Ctrl-Click on an empty space in the list (behind a file name, below them, ...) ALSO resets the selection.

I think Creat's point is a good one -- is there any reason *not* to retain the selection until it's explicitly changed? (other than the development of the code, which we can't ignore, though that generally only affects one of us, while this other issue affects a larger number of folks... )

You are right, i indeed misunderstood. Don should know how to answer this. Personally its not a big problem to me.
