Remember views per tab doesnt apply if you use set home and come back home.

Try this: Just stay home and change to any view (except details) and hit home and its back to details.

This actually leads me to a wish: a button or key to quickly toggle between details and thumbs views.
I am aware of Details with thumbs but for some reason its not to my taste.

View is part of the home definition. So everything you observed is normal.

Cool idea. Just added it! Also gave you more influence on the thumb sizes... you'll see...
