Remember folder tree openings

I have not been able to get XYplorer to remember the status of my folder tree when I close and reopen the program. I mean which + signs are expanded and which not. The save all settings does not save the information.

Thank you for your reply.

I did not make myself clear. I want to set a state of the tree with which XYPlorer always opens. No matter the state of the tree when XYPlorer closes, it will always open with the fixed state I set.

If you are using the Mini Tree you could do that by loading a script with loadtree on start up.

If I understand it correct: save settings saves the settings, but they are saved again when exiting?

Then:
- de-select "Save settings on exit"
- select your expected configuration
- one time manually save settings

Is that what you are looking for?
But remember: nothing will be saved automatically on exit, then...

Your three steps are exactly what I have been doing. But sometimes my tree setting changes inexplicably. And it gets stuck there: repeating the three steps and reopening often gives me the changed tree. Sometimes I get lucky and get the desired tree. But I've not found a way to do this with certainty. Very frustrating.

And yes, I know that nothing will be saved on exit. This is what I want: upon opening, everything is in the state I specify, including the folder tree.

Explicably I think: Only when the INI is written your stored tree can change. You can check the modified date of the ini to verify. Or, if you never want to save anything, set the INI file to readonly.

All I can say is that I am very careful whenever I save settings. And I mentioned the problem of not being able to get my desired tree back after it had gone awry.

Anyway, your idea of making the ini file read only is a perfect solution for me. Thanks.
