In the days of my first programs, you had to punch cards on a real IBM card puncher, if you wanted to learn FORTRAN. Soon after I fell in love with clean structures of Pascal, which until now stayed my professional programming language number 1. So, if you have ever glanced over the uniformity and inner beauty of Pascal, you might be able to imagine why I was getting that "Ugh!"-attitude, as soon as I had the MS Vista Windows Explorer in front of my eyes.

I am using a portable installation of XYplorer for about 1.5 years now, day and night, wherever I go, so to speak. There are but a few programs that I have actually payed for in my life. Those of them that I use all the time, apart of XY, are: WinRar, BeyondCompare, EmEditor and Scrivener. That is the league XYplorer is playing in.

But, what counts the most by XYplorer are not the uncountable awesome features and a clean GUI. No. Even when you think that its developer can not surprise you anymore with his speed and attentiveness, you will be surprised again and again. Today I asked myself: "Wait a bit, is he my private programmer? Am I a project coordinator of XY?" Breathtaking.

Been there - Done that! Except for me it was also RPG II, Assembler, and COBOL...and then I did COBOL for 25+- yrs as profession.

VERY well said! I've often thought the exact same thing! I feel like I've been able to continue to make use of some of my analysis skills here to help develop XY...and also why I make a small annual donation via PayPal to Don to thank him for that years updates.
