When creating a new button, is it possible to re-use an existing XY button's icon?
Where are the XY icons kept?

Customize Tollbar > add User Button > again Customize Tollbar, but right-click on this User Button = you'll see every button to have a name in [ ] -pick name of button you wish to reuse, and in Icon filed of your button, use :picked_name (no [] needed here)

Sorry eil, but I don't understand your procedure. I cannot see what you are talking about.

Look at the part next to each icon's name to the right of it in the square brackets []: Address Bar Go [go]
'go' is the icon name to use for that icon, you use them by typing it in the icon selection box preceded by ':' like so -
:go

And notice what eil has said before: you see these mentioned fields only when starting 'Customize Toolbar' via right click on a user button!
I remember searching for it myself...
Maybe it would not hurt, if these fields were shown always on this dialog?

Instead of showing the labels in brackets, would it be possible for each item to have a tooltip?
Then they'd be available no matter how the dialog was open but hidden away enough that they shouldn't confuse users.

I got it.
Is this procedure documented somewhere?
I would never find it intuitively.

Help file, section Toolbar:
Code: Select all
Tip: You may as well re-use XYplorer's internal Toolbar icons for your own button. Simply state the toolbar icon key preceded by a colon (":") in the Icon field, e.g. :hotlist. You can find the toolbar icon keys in the Customize Toolbar dialog when you call it from the context menu of a user button.
