New user...Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a way to hide a specific folder?

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

Since the goal of XY is to able to see everything on your system, it seems unusual to want to hide one...but other than the standard Windows "Hidden" setting and the matching "hide hidden files and folders" in Config, there's no way to do so that I know of.

Thanks for your response.

Some of my programs install themselves in the root with no option to install otherwise. They are never accessed, so only contribute to visual tree-clutter.

I do recall a file manager which has the option, but don't remember the specifics program name.

Are there other places where you DO want to see Hidden attributed items? 'Cause if not, you could probably set that attribute and the config opt to match...and you can always temporarily set it back on via View menu as needed...maybe Folder View Settings would allow you to have it both ways with one setting for root and another for other folders?

Hi and Welcome!
There are few options:
If you want to hide from list then use visual filters by using pattern for specific folder.
If you know you will never navigate to that folder and just want to block it completely then admin settings might help.
You can look up both in Help>Contents and Index>Index.

And Ralph mentioned this already: minitree will help you unclutter the tree.
