xy is not saving my tabs anymore, help!

after upgrading to the giveaway edition i can't have my previous tabs restored after a restart. the green-that-turns-brown button used to work but not anymore, but yes it goes brown when i open a new tab. what should I check?

and my scripts now are showing this!:

The giveaway edition is not different (featurewise, behaviorwise)) from the regular edition so this cannot be the cause of it.
Impossible to say what caused this.
