Couples of questions that I hope are simple things that I am

1. Is it possible to expand folder trees to show folders, subfolders & files, keep them in the correct hierarchy order and be able to print the list, even if the list is very long?
2. Is it possible to copy a folder / sub-folder structure without copying files so that I can propagate the folder structure to other drives/folders?

Hi and welcome,

There is:
1. if not alread shown, display the Info Panel at the bottom of the List through Window > Show Info Panel;
2. select the Report tab.

1. Copy the top folder (through Ctrl+C, etc.);
2. Edit > Paste Special > Paste Folder Structure.

Viewing Expanded Tree and Making XYplorer

Great Program! I have a few more new user questions:

1. Can I expand/collapse the view while in XYployer, without creating a report?

2. Can I make XYployer the default to open a folder, for example after downloading a file, etc...

Thanks,
Dwight...

Not sure what you mean here. Could you provide more details?

If you mean the replacement of applictions's File Open/Save-dialogs, then no, unfortunately. If you mean that XYplorer is started whenever a program launches an Explorer window, then perhaps: please see Configuration > Shell Integration. Both options need to be enabled; please see the help file for details and caveats.

Reference my question below "Can I expand/collapse the view while in XYployer..." I am trying to view the results of clicking a folder on the left tree in an open pane on the right and be able to expand all folders to show sub-folders and files, then collapse some folders and leave others open. Just something simple like "expand all folders" to show subordinate folders and files.

Hopefully I am not confounding the explanation.

Regards,
Dwight...

The context menu of folders in the tree, has an Expansion sub-menu. This way, you can fully expand everything below it.

I didn't have that option checked. Is there a view to show files as well as folders in this view?

Thanks,
Dwight...

If you mean a tree view that shows both files and folders, then no. I'm not aware of a file manager that offers that.

If I understand correctly carrdwight wants "Flat view" i think, i.e. to see all folders, subfolders and files in the list view. While in XY there no specific list view for this, but one can use menu "Edit>Show all items in branch" to get the desired result.
