WTF is that dialog box which, every time you switch directories when thumbnails are still loading, whether you want to cache them or not? If you have selected the "cache thumbs" option, why would you not want to cache them? Why would anyone want to be asked this every time?

I can understand this behaviour if the user explicitly stops the loading via the ESC key. But otherwise it's very obtrusive. Caching should be transparent and in the background. The user shouldn't have to know about it.

Having it the current way makes sense to me...I don't use thumbs much (more of a detail view guy) but I prefer them cached for certain folders but not for others...and there are times when I accidently end up on wrong folder (finger slip) and then move on to correct one, so when leaving the wrong one, I like being able to dispose of the undesired thumbs. And this box gives me that option.

So...since there is a difference of opinion on this, and there is PLENTY of room on the thumb tab in config, I'd suggest a new option box there to let user decide if this confirm is wanted or not.

I'd also suggest changing the options in that prompt box from "ok/cancel" to "yes/no" given that question being asked is "cache these thumbs?" and yes/no seems a bit more appropriate.

Out of curiosity, why do you find extra caches to be a problem? After all, 1GB costs less than 0.45$US...

I wouldn't say it's a real problem...just my preference...I try and keep my system somewhat neat and tidy...and I'm running on two laptops with 12GB and 20GB respectively...so size does matter a bit...and thus more to backup, etc.
