Help With A Few Questions Please (New User)

Hi, and thanks for the support forum. I am new to using a 3rd party file manager and after trying out a few of them I have decided I like XYplorer :) Hence a few questions to increase my enjoyment...

Windows XP, SP3, XYplorer 9.90.1100

1) The spacing between the file and the file title (the wording below the file) is a tad larger than what is found in XP. This takes up more real estate. Is is possible to narrow the gap?

2) The file title (the wording below the file) is not centered on many files. I think only those with short file names. Is it possible to center all file titles?

3) So I really can't save the file order when I select Manual Sorting and sort my files manually? If not, is this a feature that can be added in the future?

4) In window explorer, when I right click on an empty space I have the option to create new Winrar archive. I don't see this option when I right click on an empty space inside List View in Xyplorer. How can I get this option?

5) I'm using the full_no install version of Xyplorer. Is this why the "Set as default file manager" under Shell Integration options is greyed out? If I use the installed version instead can I then set Xyplorer as my default file manager?

Thanks for any help/guidance, folks :)

create that winrar empty archive in explorer, as you described, and copy it. than in XY, right click on white space > New Items > Go to New Items Folder = paste there. after restart of XY it should be there.

you need to check Shell Integration , then "Set as default file manager" will de-greyed.

good idea. count my vote on it too.

the 2 first questions logically belong to the software authors.

hope this is of help.

The way I think about it, if you manually sort files in a particular way then it must be according to some criteria, according to some kind of logic. Can the same not be achieved with XY's primary and secondary sorting?

Does this recent chg address your issue?

        * Various lists in the interface now adjust to the Vista/Win7 line
spacing, i.e. the lines are 2 pixels higher than in XP. This is
Vista/Win7 only. You can tweak it: WinVistaExtraLineSpacing.

Unsure what you mean. Got a screenshot?
