Tab History

Don't know if this is a bug or how things are supposed to work, but for me, the behavior is a bug. unless there is a way to change it that I could not find in help.

It appears that multiple tabs share a single browsing history (I'm using 9.90.1000), so and that each move between tabs adds an entry to the history list, even when both tabs point to the same directory. The result is that the history list quickly becomes unusable for its intended purpose, browsing backward and forward.

What is your setting for "history per tab" in Config>General?
Also look at "history without dupl" on same...

You mean Config>Advanced, where "history per tab" was in fact unchecked.

Checking it makes the tab histories work independently, which is much better for my purposes for the time being.

That said, even in situations where I do want to see a combined history, I still would not want to have every time I switch between two tabs entered into the the history list, which is what happens now.

Also, IMO, "history per tab" really belongs in Config>Tabs, as does "Remember list settings per tab." I had looked there before and found nothing.

Breadcrumbs can be useful in this case.
You can use Ctrl+backspace (or)
right-click on the tab icon (or)
right-click on UP toolbar button to get breadcrumbs.

Based on your experience, I would tend to agree...not sure what Don's reason for not doing so is.
