No, this is not currently possible. AFAIK, it's not even a feature of any navigational file manager.

But the Backspace key works as Up by default.

in xplore
while using 2 panel if i need to go up first i need to make panel active than click on up icon or backspace key .
If xplore have feature like attached image than i can go up by clicking that icon

There is also an Up button on the toolbar. Why not simply use it?

I think he means, when in 2nd pane he needs to activate 1st pane and click "up" to go up in 1st pane.
My suggestion: use "double-click on empty space goes up" from menu Tools | Configuration | Extended.

Yes, but it took me a while to understand it. Please be more descriptive in explaining what you want, unlike twitter you can use more than 140 characters here. :)
Does the below suggestion work for you?

I would supect it's more of a ESL issue...(English as Second Lang)...that's where having user location in profile can sometimes give a clue.

I think "double-click on empty space goes up" is my all-time favourite feature. I've started double-clicking on empty space in all kinds of applications, hoping they'd do something useful :wink:
