For reference. In short: probably never. Longer version as I understand it: English generally makes for the shortest words and phrases, which saves UI real estate. Other languages, German (the developer's native tongue) in particular, take up far more space.as far as i know author of XY doesn't want to localize program to any other language.
Thank you! I will keep this reply ready for copy+paste.nas8e9 wrote:For reference. In short: probably never. Even if capable native speakers were to produce translations to the same standard as the English one (which would be difficult to impossible to check for the author in many cases), XYplorer's UI would still have to be adapted to accommodate the longer text. Also, XYplorer grows very quickly which means translations would have to be actively maintained, checked and incorporated.
At this point the fact that XYplorer is a one-man business, i.e. only one person does planning, development, marketing, sales and support, comes into play. Adding incorporating translations to that already over-long list, isn't something the author will do as it will affect the most important item on the list: development. Based on forum requests and the developer's posts on the subject, it would be a commercial advantage to have translations available, but it would detract from XYplorer itself.
