show orphaned tag list
hi
I had several occasion where I would have loved that the orphaned tag locations would be presented to me as a list to look at and even edit.
Instead of only propose to delete them.
tags are important information and they can be lost when files are moved by error. A find/replace on a orphaned tag list to set a new path is an easy operation
thanks

Re: show orphaned tag list
I did think about it yesterday! But I thought about automatic search function for orphaned tags on fixed drives. Something similar when a registry cleaner software tries to fixed orphaned entries...

Yes, I agree this is an important feature. And I added it, even something more poweful. With the next version you will have complete editing access to the tags database in memory!

Hi
although there is now an editor, there is no still no way to find out which are the orphaned tags??
except manually checking all the path... no fun

Re: show orphaned tag list
Well, you recognize an orphan by its yellow "warning" icon.

Re: show orphaned tag list
testing...
a paste in the new tag editor fails
selected a set of paths
copy
went to a text editor to "find-replace" what had to be changed
come back to the editor
the set of path is still selected
Paste
the selection is removed but the paste left nothing

Re: show orphaned tag list
OK, I assume you hit some limit there. How many bytes has your tag.dat file? And how many tagged items do you have?calude wrote:wild !!

Hm, does anybody else have problems with the edit box (Editor Mode) in List Management?

In editor mode cannot add new line by pressing enter, the cursor does nothing just stays there blinking. But I can otherwise create new items in non-editor mode.
Tried the same with fresh install, no problems there.
I have 1649 items tagged. Maybe the editor mode stops working after certain number of items.
Update: in the fresh install tried pasting many path, does not go beyond 463 items here. Characters: 27799 (without spaces), 29074 (with spaces)

Re: show orphaned tag list
It works fine for me. However, I would have liked a search function as well for orphaned tags. Sometimes I don't know exacly where the file was moved to, so there is no point in editing before.Hm, does anybody else have problems with the edit box (Editor Mode) in List Management?
