This is a great little feature that saves my skin often. Restore selection could remember (and cycle through) the last 3 selections made. More, perhaps. Up to nine, why not? So one could lose a selection on a pane, go to the other, back to the previous and in the "omg, wtf I've done?!" events s/he could easily restore a carefully crafted selection instead of starting the whole process again.
