I am thinking about buying this program, but I want to make sure it can do something I REALLY need to do.

1. Can it copy a directory structure without copying the files? I have read that it can but I cannot figure it out.

2. (and this is the big one) Can it move a directory structure to another location, moving ONLY the FILES but copying the directory structure.
In other words... I need it to MOVE the files, LEAVING the directory structure IN PLACE.

The application is this.
Portable drive 1 is filed at random times with files in a specific directory structure.
New directory structure is created as new types of files are added in nested tree structure after checking to see if needed structure is already there.
As drive 1 gets full, files are MOVED from it to 2TB portable drive leaving the structure so as to avoid duplication of structure with different names.
This takes forever as directories must be checked to see if any files are in them and then moved.
This is duplicated with two other portable drives.
The directory structure has to be manually copied from the multiple 2TB portable drives to make sure everybody has the same directory structure.

If this program can do this, I will buy the lifetime pro version.

If I understand you well, prepare your pocket, here comes the solution...

1 - Select the folder on list, right click and drag it over a destination folder and try "create folder(s)/branch(es) here".

2 - What about F3 (show all items in branch), right clicking on them and dragging over a destination directory, selecting "move here with increment" or whatever you want? This will do a good job in case of collisions, if that's your concern which I hope I'm guessing right.

2 - Please check the Help for "Rich Move". If you do an F3 (show all items in branch) and then select only the files (no folders) you want to move and right-drag them to the target location you will get the command "Rich Move Here" in the drop context menu. This will create all the necessary folder structure in the target location. Please make some tests to see how it goes.

Example:

F3 on E:\Test\ finds (among other things) E:\Test\subfolder\a.txt

When you now Rich Move this file to F:\Target\ then you will get F:\Target\subfolder\a.txt (subfolder is auto-created by Rich Move) and E:\Test\subfolder\a.txt is gone while E:\Test\subfolder is still in place.
