Even users like me sometimes wonder how best to do some rather simple tasks, like how to get the selected item back into view when moving up/down the list.

Ok, so there is the #1012 "Move Focused item into view" cmd but that doesn't deal with the selected item...and #1048 "Focus first selected" would affect me when I've got another item focused.

Thus: Is there already a "Move selected into view" that I'm just overlooking or should that be a Wish? Or what other suggestions are there for this situation?

I've been doing a fair amount of clean-up on my PDF and screen prt JPG folders and am thus constantly resorting and moving up/down list to research and then getting back to the item I've got selected is becoming a bit of a drag.

Are you thinking of the first selected item? (Because there can be many.)

Yes, because, in maybe 90% of the times I have something selected, there is only one selected item.

My print screen JPG's have names that aren't consistent and/or are still the default "date - time" names and in the process of trying to locate the appropriate new name, I'm manually going up/down the list in that folder and so when I find what I want to use as basis for new name, the selected file is somewheres else than in view and then I have to scroll up/down to find it...

And yes, I tried using focus but there were some cases when I wanted to have another item focused.

Thanks! Sometimes it's the very simple stuff that can be improved quite easily! Having ability to use a single PF key as compared to paging up/down will be an definite improvement.

I didn't put this in Wishes because I thought I was just overlooking something that already existed.

Old mainframe habits! PF=Program Function -aka- F = Function keys

Dumb terminals had either 12 or 24 of them...I was used to 2 rows of 12 of them.
