Custom mouse cursors for drag and drop?

Would it be possible to make custom mouse cursors for drag and drop? Currently, there are 3 mouse cursors for this: + , - , noaction. It would be nice if we can customize what these cursors look like. So we can make them bigger for visibility on a large resolution display and also to make them have a more modern style.

One of my mice is Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 4.0 and, in its settings, I can specify what cursor I want for a particular situation, its scheme and load *.ani and *.cur files. Therefore, I think cursor customisation should really be left to native configuration areas.

i also use a custom cursor scheme for windows. but those 3 cursors in XY are not covered by the system cursor scheme.
