How to Scroll to Top having its Config Disabled?

    + Configuration | General: Added option "Scroll to top after 
      sorting".

Previously, I had to hold CTRL if I didn't want this to happen.
So I disabled the option under Config > General > Sorting to get the inverse effect (hold CTRL to scroll to top after sorting), but strangely this is not what happens (it acts the same ignoring if the file is selected and focused or de-selected but focused).
Any ideas on how to get the desired effect or is it really a little bug?
