Status information for tree

Post by Gandolf »

If focus is on a folder in the tree then the status bar gives the folder size. Tab to the file list and the status bar gives the file(s) size. All O.K. so far. Tab back to the tree, I would then have said focus was on the tree rather than the file list, but the status information is still for the file list. Should it not change to the tree status i.e folder size rather than file(s) size? Is it a bug or just a feature? If a feature, request to change it, if a bug then...

It's not a question of focus but of selection:
nothing selected -> total size
something selected -> selected size

O.K. it's a feature. So file(s) selected overrides focus in the tree. I can cope with that, but it would seem more logical to me to display the folder size when in the tree.

It's common behavior among file managers.
