Several Misc Questions

Using V9.40.0100
I have a few questions:
1 - Under Tools - Configuration - Startup & Exit - I have "Minimize to tray on X close" checked, but "Startup Minimized" is not checked. Why then does the program start minimized?
2 - I click a tab and the tree directory gets highlighted, but does not expand. How do I get it to expand?
3 - Using the Search tool, I set some date information for a search. On a subsequent search, I do not want any date parameters - How do I turn them off? I can't find a setting for this.
Thank you for any answers or suggestions!

Try button "Reset Filters".
Sorry, can't answer the other questions.

That will reset everything...however, under that button is a set of 6 checkboxes that match the 7 search tabs...you can thus uncheck the Dates box, ok?

XYplorer remembers the state it was closed it. I have none of those checked, but if I minimize it to taskbar, close via a context menu and then re-open, it will remain minimized.

Do you have
Expand destination node in tree checked in Configuration > General?

Thanks for the replies. I did use the reset option once, but thought there should be a better way.
JC - Thanks for "the better way". I totally missed that. I was looking under the Date tab for a setting or box.

That has puzzled me too (and i find it still not nice at it s right now)
Don told me that behaves like that because XY saves the current settings.
i.e.
if you close XY while it is maximized it should start maximized too.
if XY is in tray while you shutdown windowsTM XY will start minimized.

Stefan & zer0 (1),
Thanks. I always "X" it and then close from the tray. I just now tried File - Exit and reopened it and it opened maximized.
Thanks for the replies and help on that one. At least I now know why its behaving that way.
zer0 (2),
Yes, "Expand Destination Node in Tree" is checked.

Or right-click the filters' tab headers.

Yes, they are blue when active and black when inactive...it's a quick way to see what filters are in-use.
And we try to help ASAP when we can! That's what makes XY so great! The support here is far superior to all other software that I've used.

And the software itself ain't that bad either.

Well, since Tom was
only talking about the support, I just commented on
that aspect, ok? You know that I think XY is
FANTASTIC! It's something that I
MUST have running 99%+ of the time my system is on...Only close it for updates, some special situations and such...

You did have a misplaced extra closing quote tag which you can still edit out if you desire.

Does this occur in all cases or just in certain situations? Because (for ex) when i have gone to a tab and the node gets expanded, and I then condense it, the next time I return to that same tab, it won't get expanded again...are you saying it doesn't get expanded the very first time?

I'm saying that if the tab's node is not expanded, and I click the tab, the node does not expand automatically.
"Expand Destination Node in Tree" is checked.
Thanks for the Quote help. I fixed it.
How do you post a screenshot?
