Preview no-extension files

As 9.40 can now add PFA for no-extension files, I tried to add just a comma, or "*," to the text formats preview, but no success. Since these are all plain text files, I can easily see them in the Raw Preview tab, but it would be nice not to have to switch tabs. Is there another way to accomplish this? I mean, for a file with no extension to show in the preview tab as a text file.
On a related matter - the .doc and .docx files still get the infamous "do you want to open or save" question instead of a preview. Are we getting close to a fix?
Regards Emil

Great because this also affects powerpoint and excel file extension too. I'm sure if probably affects a number of MS products in addition. Good to know that this will be fixed.

Me too...whilst on the subject of previews it would be nice for those of us with widescreen monitors/dual monitors to have the ability to have the preview windows running vertically down the screen rather than horizontally across. This would seem, to me at least, to be a more natural preview of a file. Is this something you are considering?

See http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 541#p41541 (used "preview vertical" as search...there are other threads as well)
