Ok... It's kind of a miracle... but, who knows...?
I think this could be achieved via script. If such functionality could be done by script tricks, why not by the main app, due to the appeal of the wish?
-it'd be the only file manager able to do that, as far as I can tell...

It's terribly old-school but xcopy (as opposed to XYcopy) *by default* resets the read-only attribute when copying from CD/DVD to HD. Also, it's very easy to reset the attributes afterwards, either through Windows Explorer's property panel (for trees) or through XYplorer's native functionality.

From Directory Opus's help file:
Copying Files - Attributes
ยท Clear read-only flag when copying from CDs: Files stored on a CD-ROM have the Read-only attribute set by definition since one cannot write to the medium. This attribute is normally preserved by Opus when you copy the file. On a normal hard drive this can be annoying. Set this option to automatically clear the read-only attribute when a file is copied from a CD.
Edited to add: I'm guessing this might be something for XYcopy 2.0. The good news is that the roadmap lists this as coming after the current main item (Preview); the bad news is that ZIP support is to be added after Preview first (
somewhere in september).
