This may simply be a wish for how best to do this task using existing vers:

I currently have my "Excluded Folders" set to bypass "C:\Documents and Settings\*\Recent" and same basic prefix plus "Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" as two entries.
I'll likely add "Recycled" to list, as these typically give me stuff I could care less about.
However, sometimes I'd like to search those folders...so how would I best toggle those off/on? Because adding/deleting them from list doesn't seem efficient.

Or would it make any sense whatsoever to have some tiny checkbox opt for "recent", "TIF", "recycled"? And maybe something else I've forgotten?
Or ...maybe better, as more customizable, could there be a template for "exclude" that could be stored independently from "Find" so it could be loaded in as needed?

Again, I'm just not aware if another solution exists currently. If so, please clue me in! Thanks!

I could add checkmarks to the list (as in config/prev formats). Remind me later...

Revisiting this thread because:
Discovered the hard way that "Find Files" templates store the Excluded folders also as part of it...which can be GOOD if you always want to skip certain folders for a particular search...but BAD if you've added a number of common style excludes and then reload a saved search!
Because, unless I missed something (as happens more than I'd prefer), you then have lost those recently defined excludes, true?

So...how do we handle this condition? As I'd posted in Jan, maybe if the excludes were able to be stored separately using a similar template, and then be linked to find files template? Thus, for example, I could run a "Get PDF" find template with a "Skip Adobe" exclude template or a "Skip common" instead, presuming I'd previously defined those templates.

....playing some soothing new age (or whatever works) music for our admin while he meditates....it would appear that some of the existing template code might be able to be adapted...as there is a fair amont of common functions needed...
