GMail Drive

I just installed GMail Drive and the "folder" doesn't appear in XY. Would someone please tell me how to get it to appear?

I'm afraid GMail Drive uses Windows functionality that is not yet supported (though planned) by XYplorer. For now, you'll need to use Windows Explorer to access the GMail Drive functionality.Tom wrote:I just installed GMail Drive and the "folder" doesn't appear in XY. Code: Select all
run "explorer.exe /e,C:\GMail"Tom, this is not a solution per se. It does not solve OP's problem of being able to access GMail Drive's contents. Instead of a user switching to a different service, it would be preferable for XYplorer to be able to show such a non-drive device. Thankfully, such is planned under Support for Non-Drive Devices roadmap entry.Tom wrote:I found a solution - Uninstall GMail Drive and get a free Dropbox account. Shared folder appears in XY and it works great!
But as Tom is the OP, and Tom finds that the acceptable solution is to switch to a decent service instead of a hack to use GMail's space, then it does solve the OP's problem.zer0 wrote:Tom, this is not a solution per se. Granted, I missed the fact that Tom is OP, but it's still a workaround, rather than a solution.TheQwerty wrote:But as Tom is the OP, and Tom finds that the acceptable solution is to switch to a decent service instead of a hack to use GMail's space, then it does solve the OP's problem.
It's not always necessarily a good thing that a user switches to another service. The more people do it, the less incentive there is for Don to add support for non-drive devices, I wonder how many think of thatTheQwerty wrote:Does it solve XY's problem? No, but if the user no longer has a problem (and indeed has a better working solution than what they previously had), then how much of a problem is it in XY?
But the majority of non-drive device requests that I've seen here over time relate to local hardware such as cameras that don't have any alternative as easy as this so there is still plenty of demand for it, I'm sure...and thus incentive for Don.zer0 wrote:It's not always necessarily a good thing that a user switches to another service. Using an Explorer is an alternative and one that Don hasn't been afraid to whip out on a number of occasions.j_c_hallgren wrote:But the majority of non-drive device requests that I've seen here over time relate to local hardware such as cameras that don't have any alternative as easy as this so there is still plenty of demand for it, I'm sure...and thus incentive for Don.zer0 wrote:It's not always necessarily a good thing that a user switches to another service. I don't see anything wrong with this, or are you insisting that people use a service that may not serve them better just to affect Don's priorities?zer0 wrote:It's not always necessarily a good thing that a user switches to another service. Not exactly. It depends what's more important/possible/better: using a service or using a service through XYplorer.TheQwerty wrote:I don't see anything wrong with this, or are you insisting that people use a service that may not serve them better just to affect Don's priorities?zer0 wrote:It's not always necessarily a good thing that a user switches to another service.
