Reading some of the posts in the "Future history..." thread prompted me to make this suggestion. I've always thought it would be useful (especially for some of the less obvious options) to display a tooltip, with a short description of what the option does, when the mouse is hovered over the various checkboxes.

Thanks for another fellow user posting this! I had the same thought, and it would definitely help new users, like myself!
