I have folders with many many files and really need a good type-ahead function to quickly and easily get down to particular files or folders. I know I can just type ahead into the file list and it will match but its less than desirable: 1) You've go to remember not to use caps (even if there are files with caps that match) and 2) There is no way to repeat the currently typed character string with a simple key stroke to find the next match. Yes, I can do find file but that takes me to a Search tab when all I want to do is just move down further in the file list.
I had thought that the Go To From Here incremental popup would do this for me but it's apparently designed only to jump to folders and also (in some way) to zip files (but not rar files.) What I'd like to see is something that works just like the Go To From Here popup list except it's for visual incremental type-ahead of things in the current folder.

You did not have to create a new thread here. Yes, you did. Sorry, I jumped the gun a bit and thought I should post this formally in the Wishes column. I would delete this thread if I could since Spot & Jump does do the job for me.You did not have to create a new thread here. I have answered you here: viewtopic.php?p=47327#p47327.

Just so you know: We're not that formal here such that a wish won't occur if it's not in that sub-forum...obviously, a wish that hasn't been discussed anywhere else before would/should go there, but wishes/items have been acted on when they are result of discussions in other sub-forums as well.Jerry wrote:Sorry, I jumped the gun a bit and thought I should post this formally in the Wishes column.
