Click Path Link

Hello,
[xplorer²] has this really nice feature where if you click the address path link on any part of the path, it will take you to that location. For example,
C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\My Dropbox
I can click on any part of that path, and it will take me there. This is really convenient because you don't need to backspace to go up a directory, or click a button to go up a directory.
This really is the only feature of [xplorer²] that I wish XYplorer had. It really is a nice time saving feature that I think all your users would benefit from. Please!

Yes, this sort of breadcrumb is on my list since long. But to add it the address bar the address bar would have to have two "modes", one to type and one to click. And way to switch the modes. This complication is holding me back.
Adding it to the tab headers is problematic when a path gets shortened (ellipsed) due to lack of space.

I am sure you have seen how [xplorer²] handles that. It's nice that they have tabs on the bottom, and address bar on top. You could probably do the same thing, and make it an option.
I attached a screen snippet from [xplorer²]

Yes, a clickable caption bar for each list was an option when I introduced dual pane. But I never got around doing it. Maybe later.
Bottom tabs I don't like that much.

I would take a clickable caption bar on the bottom

For OP's reference, here's another prior thread related to this same issue:

but here's one almost identical to yours (which you could have found via search for "breadcrumb"):

Hi conker,
maybe try this (at least as an work around):
- go to an min. 6 folders deep sub-folder
- go up two folders
- press shortcut Ctrl+Backspace
Code: Select all

Revolutionary keyboard-driven popup-Breadcrumb.

Idea:
Maybe this dialog could pop-up on an double-click (or Ctrl+Click) at an list tab.
Or, just tested: we can add an Tool bar button (CTB) with command #525; for that issue.
(BTW: more user buttons, please
)

you can also get the breadcrumb for a tab by right-clicking the tab's icon.

These are all nice workarounds, and I really appreciate the feedback and the enthusiasm of the users because this is a great product! However, I am hoping x2's implementation gets implemented, since it is the most intuitive and efficient means to accomplish the goal. It is one of those features that you don't realize how nice it is until you use it.
I am sure everyone has experienced keeping around that one tool because of one particular feature, even though you may have another tool that accomplishes the same thing? This feature and Subversion icons showing up are the 2 reasons why I keep going back to x2. The 3rd one was dual pane, but XY has that now
Cheers!

But if the "Vista/W7 style" was done instead, wouldn't that give you what you wanted and more? Since that allows a dynamic selection of sub-folders within each path segment...

Subversion icons:
Configuration / Advanced / Show icon overlays. Since many years...
