Hotkey takeover.

Have you ever thought of making an option for this program to take over for the default Windows explorer hotkey combination of Win+E?

This is similar to an option in Directory Opus where anything that would normally cause Windows explorer to open, such as the aforementioned hotkey combination, will instead open the Directory Opus program.

I find that I have no need whatsoever to use the Windows explorer program with XYplorer installed and I have quite often used this hotkey combination since it became available on keyboards for use on Windows. I daresay that my fingers have been "programmed" to use this key combination intuitively after such a long period of time. :)

Thank you...

Aren't there any hotkey managers around that can do that for you? It's definitely not something I can do from inside XY! I mean, it's not running in the moment you open it, right?

I would also find this to be a useful feature. Sysinternal's Process Explorer (link) has the option "Replace Task Manager" that, when selected, causes procexp to load when I press the usual taskman hotkey ctrl-shift-esc.

I would think that if the task manager hotkey can be replaced then any windows hotkey could be replaced, but maybe they're just using some sort of trickery to pull it off.

If you only want to use Win+E to start XY then AutoHotkey is the program to use. It can assign a keyboard combination to run a program. My XY is started with Win+V (remember TrackerV3? - not may programs use the letter "V").

If you want to replace Windows Explorer with XY then that is a different thing and as far as I know requires registry modification.
