Hi, found another one:

Whenever you select a folder in the treeview on the left and hit "del" to remove it (which works fine) it obviously gets removed from the tree. Unfortunately it's not allone: The lowest node (my network places, on the first try) gets removed with it. Since I have a virtual CD drive on z: it disappears with the next delete and so on...

I often delete many folders using the tree view, so after a while the drive which I'm working on disappears (as far as I can tell only the top-level nodes are removed) which requires me to restart tracker of course...

a quick fix would be nice, since I use this alot...

Sounds horrible. However, I cannot reproduce it.

I only discovered today that it was related to the deleting from tree, so I don't know if it *alyways* happens, but this way it is reproduceable for me:
go to any folder, hit Ctrl-N a few times to make a few folders. Click on one of them in the tree on the left and either hit the "del"-key, select delete from it's context menu or use the red X button on the toolbar. This always removes the lowest top-level node for me (using win2k, though that shouldn't make a difference...)

If you still can't reproduce it I can make a video of it if that helps (know a prog that can record desktop-activity to avi/wmv?)

Still can't reproduce. No need for a video, I believe you. I'd rather like to know of anybody else can reproduce it.

Do you have auto-refresh on or off?

Upgraded to latest beta, still the same error.
In addition I got this after installing the new .exe:

Auto-Refresh is on (not 100% sure if it was before, but I think so)
come to think about it it might well be related to that:
When I select the to-be-deleted folder in the tree and hit del, it disappears instantly. About half a second later when the working folder is changed/refreshed the last node disappears with that refresh. If you delete in the tree this is as long as it takes for the list to be set to the new location and display that content. So that refresh and the disappearing are synchronous.

still the bug is present in all versions though...

Ok it's deffinitely the auto-refresh! If I disable it nothing disappears (but I do need it so I want to have it on...)

EDIT (to avoid 10 posts in a row): This will probably interest you a lot, since the auto-refresh seems to be responsible for the slow network performance of Tracker! If I disable it it and click on a network drive it appears instantly or with no more than 200-300 ms delay (which is the same as explorer, if not less!). When I have it enabled, clicking on the same drive takes about 2 (!) seconds for it's contents to get listed!

I thought you might like that, you've been hunting that slow network thing for months (and it annoyed me quite a bit too since I use ALOT of network stuff...)
Of course I don't know how the auto-refresh is implemented, but how come it slows down the initial refresh? Anyway glad I noticed it, now I might have to hit F4/5 a few more times but this is sooooo much faster/better!
