copying and keeping the dates unchanged

Is there any way to copy or cut/paste files from one location to another location without affecting the attributes of the file? I noticed if I copy a letter from my usb stick to the normal folder that the modified date will remain correct but the creating date becomes the date of copying. I understand that I do create a new file on this date but if there is a way to copy the file with the original creating date I would prefer that.

As was pointed out to me just a day or so ago in the W2K thread, the
http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/Rich_Operations can be used for that, I believe...

No, sorry, but Rich Operations has nothing to do with that.
The
Backup functions will do what you want. See screen shot for configuration options.

thanks - that's what I was looking for. I just did not understand the difference between rightclick and drop and rightclick and backup.

I know that "backup" is not an ideal name for this function. In future this functionality will be incorporated in XYcopy.
