XYplorer Beta Club

Anyone know if there are custom skins for XYplorer? Is the program skinnable in any way? If not, any future plans for skins?

I wasn't able to find a specific thread that addresses this but I believe/suspect Don's view is that: XY will not be skinable, and if the design isn't to your liking, choose another FM since he prides himself on the XY look as it exists...

Customizable skins is very desirable

I understand people's interest in skinning: we all have our aesthetic preferences and all. But I'll readily admit that XY has one of the best and most consistent-looking interfaces around. Certainly on the Windows File Manager world (and I have used most of them at one time or another ).

I vote the speed instead. I have some bad experience with skins. For example the developer of DefenseWall killed this feature after a certain time, however that is a paid software as well. But skin seriously affected the speed...

I run two XYplorers at the same time for entirely different tasks (and I like them to start with certain tabs after I shut them and restart, or simply different settings, categories etc.). Having a way to differentiate them easily would be easy !
Can we at least change some colors or make the GUI look different.

There is a way to set a custom icon via a tweak. Somebody here might remember how.

Hi all, I am also looking for new custom skins for XYplorer.

There aren't any at the moment, but once the Dark Mode is in effect (planned for later this year), you will be able to design, save, and load your own custom color schemes.

Being pragmatic, with September first on the horizon "(planned for later this year)" is not very far away.
