FTP

Post by 77041 »

XYplorer is a great program.

However it's claim to be a Replacement for Windows Explorer is not really correct. Yes in many ways it is much better.

As most people know Windows Explorer does have a simple ftp ability, which I do use a lot.

Anyway I'll not ask for a refund (US$80+) because the rest of the program is so good, and is well worth the money.

I noticed the first request for ftp was way back in 2005 !

Perhaps it's time.... :D

Anyway great program.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

Having said that, while it seems that you did a search to locate an early (2005) mention of FTP, you didn't fully search before creating this thread as looking for "FTP" finds this has been discussed many times before, and some quite recently...such as this post (http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 219#p39219) which was just a few days ago.

It would have been noticed just as well but also helped us keep the forum cleaner if you'd had located an existing thread (such http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 777#p38777 which may have been the one you found and which is still active after all that time) and posted to that instead of adding yet another redundant one...

As to being a "Explorer replacement", I think Don said it quite well here:
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 588#p37588
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Though XY does not have its own ftp, you can use Windows' ftp command. Also, there was a script somewhere to view ftp files inside XY's info panel. I think its this:

If you want to upload files on regular basis then you can use Windows' ftp command, for example I use this script myself:
