Miscellaneous / Timestamp

Miscellaneous / Timestamp / Set Modified Date to Now... etc. I'm not getting much feedback on these wonderful functions. I wonder: Does anybody use them? Because I'm wondering whether to lift them to the main menu level... (I could use them there...). Maybe addtionally a small dialog opened by new "Set Modified Date to..."...

The way I've used them is via "User>Run Script" having a script of "Set Modif = now" title, etc...because I use them quite rarely...so having them via a regular menu would make whatever one they were added to more lengthy...and we know that both File & Edit have quite extensive menus already...and I've only got a handful of "Run Script" entries so that works well for me.

I'm planning to do some folding in the file menu, so this stuff would go to the second level. Right now I'm moving all those Copy Here... into a new submenu "Duplicate".

Funny, I was just looking at all those long entries...was wondering if "Copy Here with Suffix Date Modified" could be abbrev as "Copy Here w/Suffix Date Modif", for example? And others similarly?
Because having those lengthy items means it takes more mouse movement to get over to any submenu...
Which thus leads me to this tangent idea :
Could the KS "aids" that show in menus be optionally disabled? 'Cause for me, a great deal of the time, they are just extra screen space (maybe 1 to 1 1/2 inches at most?) that I have to get over/around with mouse to select desired sub-option/menu. The KS that I use most often are ones that I remember and those that I don't remember are ones I don't use...and IF I really wanted to find the right KS, I could do so easily via other means.
I can extract this to separate wish thread if you wish...

Yes, please do. Interesting idea. Technically very easy to do. But probably not very popular. As you know, I won't do it for just one user...

That would work fine for me. The main commands I use from that set are "Copy here with Suffix Date Modified" (I use this a LOT!), "Copy Here as..." and "Copy here with Suffix Number." However, I always access them by their keyboard shortcuts, so moving them to a submenu won't bother me in the least...

I'm not so sure if "Special" is the best title to use for those functions...I might suggest "Utility functions" or "Other functions" or similar...

OK, I was expecting and hoping for a feedback on this. Any other ideas? I'm not yet convinced of your suggestions. And why exactly is Special not so good? The submenu's concept is roughly: functions that are (1) not so frequently used, (2) special to XYplorer. (I know that Create shortcuts is not special to XY, but, hey, that's just one exception to the rule...

)

That's ok if you're not yet convinced...and why? Because when you think of it as "File: Special", it doesn't really tell you anything...so even adding word "functions" would help, so that it reads "File: Special Functions", it implies some action can/will be done...or maybe "Actions"? Uhnn..na, "Functions" is better.
Maybe someone else will chime in hopefully? Come on follks...

"Functions" is pretty redundant in this context, ain't it?

Not really...because it gives a clue as to what they are..."File: Special" is just a bit too vague/generic...and doesn't give a clue that user is able to perform some action on file vs getting something from file as Properties does.

Maybe I am late, but all timestamp could go into Edit>Timestamp. Similarly, in Edit menu, all Select related stuff can be folded into Select and all find related stuff can be folded into Find.

Yes, I was thinking about that but was unsure about the wiseness of folding it. These might be often-used functions for some mousy users...
