Move/Copy To Other Pane -> KS

I'd like to define a default KS for each of these two commands. Any idea what would be the standard KS for those in the DP world?

That's what x2 uses as I recall...but of course in x2 that causes a pop-up with a choice of destinations and the other pane being the default.

Thanks. That's not an option for XY, of course, since F5 and F6 have standard meanings in Windows since Win95 I think.

Since SHIFT means Move and CTRL means Copy in many contexts, what about these:
Shift+F6 : Move to Other Pane
Ctrl+F6 : Copy to Other Pane

Shift+F6 is currently: Miscellaneous / Focus Functions / Move Focused Item Into View, so that would have to get a new one.

I looked in the x2 full docs PDF and found that they use "Cntl+" with F5/F6 to bypass pop-up dialog and use other pane as destination, so if you're trying to compete with that product, then using Cntl+F6 as 'Copy to other' would be the opposite of their default/std ('Move to other') and since with x2 lite (which I use), user cannot modify KS, it may be more habit for some...not me, as I didn't even know that "Cntl+" was option until now.

Well, I don't care about this. Searching the web, I cannot make out a clear standard or preferences for the meaning Ctrl+F6 or Shift+F6, apart from the general standard that Ctrl=Copy and Shift=Move.

Within XY, using F6 with Ctrl and Shift would make a lot of sense, I think:

Code: Select all

Shift+F6: Move to Other Pane; Shift+F7: Move To...
Ctrl+F6: Copy to Other Pane; Ctrl+F7: Copy To...
