How to set mouse middle click button to open new tab?

Hello everyone,
is it possible now to set middle click to open new tab? sort of like the firefox/opera where links open in new tab when you middle clicked it, i like to replicate it in xyplorer but in folders in the panes, so when i middle click a folder, a new tab would open in the background, the current shortcut is shift+click, its working in the tree panel already, but i want it to work in the panes, is there a way to change the shortcut?
thanks

Shift+DblClick in the panes open folders in new tabs.
Actually holding shift in virtually all "go to" operations (favorites, history etc) will open the destination in a new tab.

i was able to use the shift-doubleclick to open a new tab, but i like to replace the shortcut with just a single middle click mouse button, is this possible to do?
thanks

My current mouse lets me define a lot of actions for the middle button but not the MiddleButton click

... maybe I need more coffee, but I just don't see where to set it.
So let me ask you: when you click into tree or list with the middle button, does the clicked element receive the focus then??

Forget it, I got it! (Had to set it to "Auto-Scroll"!

same here, except that i never use "open in new tab".
i'd rather have the new alt+click functionality for my middle click.
Don, could you make this configurable?
having a choice between some of the mouse tricks would be great!

You mean middle-click on tree should open new tab in
inactive pane?
Edit: If yes, i would not change any current behavior which SPers are used to, i.e. middle-click on tree opens new tab.
However, being a SPer i like the new behavior of alt-shift-click because i can quickly add new tabs to my alternate set of tabs without even going there.

that's why i said to make it configurable (even if it's a tweak).

No, I don't like it.
