a few low-priority wishes

this is a compilation of some things i've really missed on the past few months.
i know you're busy with dual pane right now, so i'll be patient.
1. change "up" behaviour on search mode and on the "location unavailable" screen.
in those two cases, "back" takes you to the place you were before running a search, or the 1st available parent, respectively.
using "up" will take you one level higher than "back".
i think it would be better if "up" worked like "back" in those situations.
i use the "dbl-click on empty goes up" instead of "back", so this would help a lot.
2. make the color of statusbar messages customizable.
some of them are unreadable with certain windows themes.
3. always open catalog item on current tab.
just ressurecting
an old wish.
is that tweak coming?
4. customizable (or at least increased) number of retrieved nodes for "mini tree from history".
i think only 4 of them is too little to be useful.
5. a way to apply the current or default column layout to all tabs at once.

I join the thread to add this low-priority wishe
An "auto-optimize" for the Catalog
Same behaviour as the tree: only one Catalog Category open at the same time.
have a nice day

I have a feeling this might already exist in the form of holding shift while doing something, but for the life of me I can't remember/figure out what it is.

I've never thought about this, but such an option is exactly what I've been longing for!

that works with the "list style" settings

, but not with columns

.

two other ideas:
-an option to auto-collapse the category when moving the focus away from the catalog.
-an option to prevent the category from collapsing when auto-optimizing the catalog.
these should be configurable in the properties dialog.

BTW, look for MiniTreeHistoryDepth in your INI file...

bumping again, while i still remember this thread exists.
BTW, i noticed one of my catalog entries always opened in the current tab, regardless of other tabs' locations.
inspecting that item, i found a trick to emulate this:
3. always open catalog item on current tab.
you just have to use a different casing on the catalog location than the real path.
ex:
real == D:\Folder
catalog == d:\folder
while this might be considered a bug,
please don't fix it yet!
