I personally do not like the new tab bar-folder tree replacement. In the previous version the tab bar([Toolbar-Adressbar] was going all the way from left to right and was giving enough space for tabs and other icons. Now in the new version the folder tree cuts out some of that line, in return we have less space for tabs. I really do not think this is a better desicion than previous one. I do not see any gain of extending the folder tree couple pixels in height, while cutting down the tab bar like that. I can stick at least 6-7 tabs in that place stolen by the folder tree now.

The old layout is not compatible with DP. However, when DP is all finished, I might offer a tweak for single paners. Not sure yet. This is not a promise.

When you're in single pane mode, then this space can be used but as Don pointed out, it's incompatible with DP since all tabs must be within the list area...so if you're only ever going to use single pane, having the ability to expand into this area could be worthwhile.

When you're in single pane mode, then this space can be used but as Don pointed out, it's incompatible with DP since all tabs must be within the list area...so if you're only ever going to use single pane, having the ability to expand into this area could be worthwhile.

I understand that but the thing is that while DP is amazing great awesome, we need some solutions for the problems that might arise from DP design and I think Tab bar and listing of tabs is one of them. Maybe we can get double line tab bar?

double line tab bar? hardly.

But, as I said before, analogue to "Wide Info Panel" there might be "Wide tab bar" in future... stealing space from the tree. Apart from that, F8 is always available for hiding the tree! I often use it to have more list...
